Privacy Policy

InGuard

Thank you for using InGuard. We value your privacy and this policy explains how your information is handled.

Effective Date: January 25, 2026

1. Core Principle: Offline by Default

  • Local Processing: OCR, allergen matching, and storage run entirely on your iOS device.
  • No Silent Uploads: In default use, photos, ingredient text, and allergy preferences are not uploaded.
  • No Tracking: IDFA and third-party behavioral tracking SDKs are not used.

2. Information We Collect

  • 2.1 Deep Analysis (user-triggered only): Data is sent only when users explicitly choose Deep Analysis / Report Issue and confirm email sending, including cropped image, device info, and feedback text.
  • Purpose: Used only for algorithm improvement and bug fixing; raw image data is periodically deleted.
  • 2.2 Locally Stored Data: Custom blocklist keywords and Pro status (StoreKit verification) are stored locally and removed when the app is deleted.

3. Permissions

  • Camera permission is used only for real-time packaging text scanning; video stream is processed by iOS Vision and is not saved or uploaded.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Apple iCloud: If iCloud backup is enabled, local app settings may be backed up by iOS, governed by Apple policies.
  • Mail Services: Feedback emails use the native iOS mail client and follow your mail provider’s privacy policy.

5-7. Children’s Privacy / Policy Updates / Contact

  • The app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
  • The policy may be updated as features evolve; periodic review is advised.
