Batch audio processing for delivery: convert formats while denoising, normalizing loudness and trimming silence, plus a CLI

Convert, normalize loudness and trim silence in one batch pass

PureConvert Pro adds the processing you usually do before delivery to PureConvert Batcher's batch transcoding: denoise, head/tail silence trimming, fades, padding, channel conversion, volume gain and loudness normalization. Loudness presets cover podcast, streaming, broadcast and ACX audiobooks, or set your own target loudness, true peak and loudness range. Parameters set in the interface can be copied as a command line; subscribers can run the whole pipeline inside scripts and automation.

Feature set

Batch transcoding

Everything PureConvert Batcher does: whole folders processed in batch with the directory structure preserved, seven output formats, tags and artwork copied along, DSD-to-PCM, and finished files skipped automatically.

Loudness normalization

Presets for podcast (-16 LUFS), ACX audiobooks (-20 LUFS), music streaming (-14 LUFS) and broadcast (-23 LUFS), or set your own target loudness, true peak and loudness range.

ACX audiobook mode

Outputs MP3 to the ACX spec (192 kbps CBR, 44.1 kHz, mono) and automatically applies -20 LUFS loudness normalization, denoise, limiting and room tone repair.

Denoise

Removes steady background noise from recordings in batch. Suited to podcasts, voice-over and interview material before further work.

Silence trimming and padding

Trims head and tail silence by threshold (dB) and minimum duration (seconds); can also pad a set number of seconds of silence at either end, or add fades.

Channels, sample rate and gain

Converts between stereo and mono, sets a target sample rate, and applies a uniform volume gain in dB.

Concurrency

Sets how many files are processed at once. Defaults to an automatic value based on the machine.

Command line

Set parameters in the interface, click "Copy as CLI", and paste the command into a terminal or script to run without the UI. Every transcoding, processing and loudness option has a matching flag.

In depth

Workflow

  1. Pick the source and target folders: subfolders are processed with them, and the directory structure is preserved.
  2. Pick the output format and quality: seven formats; when the source contains DSD and the output is not MP3, you can set sample rate and bit depth.
  3. Turn on the processing you need: denoise, silence trimming, channel conversion, gain, loudness normalization, fades, padding. With nothing enabled it is pure transcoding.
  4. Start: progress shows scanning, skipping and processing with logs.
  5. Copy as CLI (optional): the same parameters can then run directly in a terminal.

Loudness presets

Preset Target loudness Typical use
Podcast -16 LUFS Podcast platforms, spoken content
ACX audiobook -20 LUFS Audible / ACX audiobook delivery
Music streaming -14 LUFS Music on streaming services
Broadcast -23 LUFS Broadcast TV and radio programs
Custom You set it Target loudness, true peak (dB) and loudness range (LU, can be auto)

In ACX mode the output is fixed at 192 kbps CBR, 44.1 kHz mono MP3, and denoise, limiting and room tone repair are applied automatically.

Processing options at a glance

Option Adjustable parameters
Denoise On / off
Head/tail silence trim Threshold (dB), minimum duration (seconds)
Pad start / end Seconds
Fade in / out Seconds
Channel conversion Mono / stereo
Target sample rate Pick as needed
Volume gain dB
Loudness normalization Preset or custom
Concurrency Auto or set manually

All processing happens in the same pass as the transcoding. No intermediate exports are needed.

Command line

The CLI is available to subscribers. Every interface option has a matching flag, for example:

  • --source / --target: source and target folders
  • --output-format, --quality-preset, --sample-rate, --bit-depth, --channel
  • --denoise, --gain-db
  • --loudnorm-preset podcast|acx|music|broadcast|custom, plus --loudnorm-target-i, --loudnorm-target-tp, --loudnorm-target-lra
  • --trim-threshold-db, --trim-min-duration-sec, --pad-start-sec, --pad-end-sec, --fade-in-sec, --fade-out-sec
  • --max-concurrency: concurrent file count

You do not need to memorize these. Set options in the interface and click “Copy as CLI” to get the full command.

Free tier, lifetime license and subscription

The free quota is a cumulative count and does not reset monthly. The lifetime license is a one-time purchase and unlocks the graphical interface only; the command line requires a subscription. If you only need format conversion without this processing, the free PureConvert Batcher is enough.

Privacy and system requirements

All transcoding and processing happens locally. Files are never uploaded, there is no account and no usage statistics. The network is only used for purchases and restoring purchases, through the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store.

  • Platforms: macOS (Mac App Store) and Windows (Microsoft Store).
  • Mac permission: when processing external drives or protected directories, the app may need Full Disk Access in System Settings; the app points this out.
  • Formats: input DSF, DFF, FLAC, APE, WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus; output MP3, FLAC, M4A, WAV, OGG, Opus, AIFF.
  • Interface languages: Chinese and English.

Who it is for

  • Podcast and audiobook producers: normalize finished episodes to -16 LUFS in batch, or export to the ACX spec
  • Sound designers and audio engineers: normalize sample rates, channels and head/tail silence in batch before delivery
  • Music producers: organize sample packs and stem exports into a consistent format with tags preserved
  • Anyone automating: wire transcoding and processing into existing scripts from the command line

FAQ

How is it different from the free PureConvert Batcher?

Batcher only converts formats. Pro adds denoise, silence trimming, fades, channel conversion, gain and loudness normalization in the same pass, plus the ACX audiobook mode and a command line.

What loudness presets are there?

Podcast -16, ACX audiobook -20, music streaming -14 and broadcast -23 LUFS. You can also set a custom target loudness, true peak and loudness range.

What does ACX mode do?

It outputs 192 kbps CBR, 44.1 kHz mono MP3 and automatically applies -20 LUFS loudness normalization, denoise, limiting and room tone repair.

How do I use the command line?

Set parameters in the interface, click "Copy as CLI", then paste the command into a terminal or script. The command line requires a subscription.

How much does the free tier cover?

Up to 10 files per batch and 100 files total, with every processing option available. The lifetime license allows 100 per batch with no total cap; the subscription removes all limits and includes the CLI.

Do tags survive conversion?

Yes. After processing, tags and artwork are copied to the new file and read back for verification.

Does it need the network?

No. Transcoding and processing run locally. The network is only used for purchases and restoring them.
