Find private photos in your library on-device and move them where you want. Works on iPhone, Mac and Windows

Find the private photos buried in a big library and put them somewhere separate

Private Photo Move scans your photos with an on-device AI model, finds private photos containing nudity, and moves them to a folder or external drive you choose. On iPhone it scans the system photo library and can hide the found photos in one tap, or collect them into a separate album. Detection only targets private imagery with nudity; ID photos and ordinary portraits are not selected. Everything runs on your device: no network needed, photos are never uploaded.

Feature set

On-device AI detection

The detection model installs with the app and runs on your device. Nothing to download, no network needed. It only detects private imagery containing nudity; ID photos and ordinary portraits are out of scope.

Folder scanning (Mac / Windows)

Pick a folder and it scans every image inside. During the scan it shows files scanned, files found, detection speed and estimated time left.

Move to a chosen location

Moves the detected photos to the private folder or external drive you pick, showing the transfer speed. Files that fail to move are listed separately.

Reverse transfer

It can also work the other way: move the photos that were not detected, leaving the private ones in place.

Library scanning (iPhone)

Scans the entire system photo library after you grant access. Found photos can all be hidden in one tap (into the system "Hidden" album), or collected into an album named "Private Photo".

Hardware acceleration

Macs with Apple silicon use the neural engine; on Windows it prefers NVIDIA graphics, then other GPUs.

Common image formats

Supports JPG, PNG, HEIC / HEIF, WebP, BMP.

In depth

How the desktop version works

  1. Pick a folder: choose the photo folder to check, such as a photo backup, a downloads directory or a whole drive’s image folder.
  2. Scan: live counters show scanned and found counts, detection speed (images/sec) and estimated time left.
  3. Pick the destination: set a private folder or an external drive.
  4. Move: detected photos are moved there. Checking “Transfer unmatched images” works the other way and moves everything else. Failed files stay in place and are listed separately; run it again to handle them.

Photos are moved, not copied; no duplicates stay in the original location. Try it on a small folder first to confirm the detection looks right before processing a whole library.

How the iPhone version works

  1. Grant library access: allow access to the photo library.
  2. Scan the library: it scans the entire library on the phone. Large libraries take a while; keep the app in the foreground during the scan.
  3. Handle the results:
    • Hide all: puts the found photos into the system “Hidden” album so they no longer appear in the library;
    • Collect into the Private Photo album: creates an album named “Private Photo” and gathers the photos into it.

What it detects and what it does not

Notes
Detects Private photos containing nudity
Does not detect ID photos, passports, ordinary portraits, sensitive text in screenshots

AI detection is not exact: it can miss individual photos and can pick the wrong ones. Review the results before moving; back up important photos before large batch operations.

Speed and hardware

Detection runs locally, and speed depends on the drive and processor. The app’s reference figures: about 50 images/sec on an SSD, about 10 images/sec on a hard disk.

  • Mac: Apple silicon uses the neural engine; Intel Macs compute on the CPU.
  • Windows: prefers NVIDIA graphics, then uses other GPUs through DirectML.
  • iPhone: computed on the phone; speed depends on the model.

Purchase, privacy and requirements

Private Photo Move is a paid download. Once bought there are no in-app purchases and no quantity limits.

The detection model installs with the app. Scanning and moving happen on the device: no network, no uploads, no account and no usage statistics.

  • iPhone: iOS 17.6 or later (App Store).
  • Mac: macOS 13.5 or later (App Store).
  • Windows: Microsoft Store.
  • Image formats: JPG, PNG, HEIC / HEIF, WebP, BMP.
  • Interface languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian.

Who it is for

  • People who want private photos in the iPhone library hidden without picking them manually

FAQ

Does it need a network? Are photos uploaded?

No network is needed and photos are never uploaded. The detection model installs with the app; scanning and moving happen on your device.

Which photos does it detect?

Only private photos containing nudity. ID photos, passports and ordinary portraits are not in scope.

Does it copy or move the photos?

The desktop version moves them; no duplicates stay in the original location. The iPhone version does not move files. It puts photos into the system "Hidden" album or collects them into the "Private Photo" album.

Can detection make mistakes?

Yes, there is error margin. Individual photos can be missed or wrongly picked. Try a small folder first and back up before large batch operations.

Which platforms are supported?

iPhone, Mac and Windows. The iPhone version scans the system photo library; the Mac and Windows versions scan folders you choose.

How fast is it?

The app's reference figures are about 50 images/sec on an SSD and about 10 images/sec on a hard disk. Actual speed depends on the drive, processor and graphics.

Is it paid?

A paid download. Once bought there are no in-app purchases and no quantity limits.
