Local music server for Mac and Windows: one unified library, original-quality LAN streaming, on-demand transcoding, and encrypted remote access (in development)
PureStream
PureStream runs on your Mac or Windows computer, scanning local folders to build a high-performance music index. Built on standard Subsonic and OpenSubsonic protocols, it delivers original-quality streaming across your local network to PurePlayer and other compatible apps, plus secure direct-tunnel remote listening on the go. Your audio files and metadata remain strictly on your machine without cloud uploads, domain purchases, or public IP addresses. (Currently in development)
- Local Library Scanning and Indexing — Select one or multiple local folders on your computer, including external hard drives or NAS shares mounted as local system paths. PureStream recursively reads embedded tags, folder artwork, and lyrics files entirely on-device, never modifying your originals without permission.
- Subsonic and OpenSubsonic Compatibility — Designed around the open Subsonic and OpenSubsonic API standards. It is the dedicated streaming backend for the iOS companion player PurePlayer; other clients that support the standard can connect, with available features depending on the endpoints they use.
Use case
Music collectors with massive local high-resolution libraries who prefer keeping their files and listening habits off commercial cloud services
